Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about ordering custom event badges, lanyards, and badge holders.
Product Information
What are custom event badges and conference badges used for?
Custom event badges and conference badges are personalized name badges used for conferences, trade shows, meetings, and corporate events. They typically include attendee information such as names, job titles, company names, QR codes, and event branding to help identify attendees, improve networking, and create a more professional event experience.
What types of custom event badges do you offer?
We offer three main types of custom event badges: Direct Thermal, Paper, and Plastic badges.

- Paper Event Badges: 18 pt full-color badges ideal for pre-printed attendee names, branding, and conferences.

We offer two types of event lanyards:

What size event badges do you offer?
What are direct thermal event badges?
Direct thermal event badges are badge shells designed for onsite printing using compatible direct thermal printers. Our 9.5 pt direct thermal badges are durable, tear-resistant, and commonly used for conference check-in, registration kiosks, and last-minute attendee printing.
What are timing marks on event badges?
Timing marks are black sensor marks printed on the back of a badge that direct thermal printers use to detect position and ensure precise cutting. These badges are typically printed as two mirrored halves, then folded along a perforation to create a front-and-back credential.
Gap or notch-based badges use sensor detection instead of printed timing marks, enabling true double-sided on-demand printing without folding. This method maximizes badge space and efficiency by allowing both sides to be printed directly.
Are your badges compatible with direct thermal printers?
Do you offer eco-friendly event badges and lanyards?
Yes. We offer eco-friendly event badge and lanyard options, including FSC-certified paper badges, recyclable badge holders, recycled rPET lanyards, and certified compostable packaging.
Do you offer onsite badge printing?
Do your event badges work with event registration and check-in software?
Yes. Our direct thermal event badges are compatible with many event registration and check-in platforms that support onsite badge printing, including systems used with Zebra direct thermal printers. They can be printed with attendee names, company information, QR codes, and other variable data during onsite check-in.
While we do not provide event registration software, badge printers, or scanning hardware, we work with many event technology providers whose platforms integrate with our badge stock. If you're unsure whether your event platform or printer is compatible, our team can help you choose the right badge for your setup.
